The University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings have exciting news! The new “Red, White and Black Campaign” focuses your generous support on athletic and academic excellence by prioritizing the holistic development of our athletes and fostering leadership, teamwork, and resilience. With your contribution to the “Red, White and Black Campaign”, Vikings Athletics will enhance the experience of our current student-athletes and provide opportunities for future Vikings to achieve their full potential both on and off the playing surface.

Vikings Athletics strives to provide the best experience possible for our student-athletes. The “Red, White and Black Campaign” is designed to continuously improve resources for all Vikings competitors, regardless of sport, and to grow our athletics program to achieve success at a national level each year. With sport always evolving, the campaign will focus on directing gifts to support enhancements within athletic therapy prevention and services, acquire needed training equipment, provide mental health and wellness skills, and various other services which will benefit the entire student-athlete population each year.

Through your gift to this campaign, you will help leave a lasting impact on our student-athletes; lives, both while they compete as a Viking and long after they hang up the “ red, white and black”.

Red, White and Black Campaign FAQ's

1. Is there a minimum donation amount to be eligible for a tax receipt? No, there is no minimum amount. Any amount you can give greatly impacts our student-athletes.
2. What do I receive as a donor? The University of Alberta is a Charitable Organization, as such Charitable Gifts made toany University of Alberta Fund including the Red, White and Black Campaign is defined as a voluntary transfer of property (in this case monetary) without valuable consideration to the donor. With all Charitable Gifts, the donor receives a tax receipt from the University of Alberta for the amount of donation.
3. I didn't get/lost my tax receipt, how can I get a new one? The original tax receipt is sent via email within two weeks after the donation is made, but it can end up in people's spam or junk mail. 4. Are there other ways to give instead of an online credit card transaction? Yes, there are several ways you can make a donation to the Red, White and Black Campaign. 5. Will the money I donate go directly to a student-athlete? All donations will directly support Vikings Athletics to use as per the Red, White and Black Campaign terms. All donations are tracked by the University of Alberta - Augustana advancement team and Vikings Athletics administrative staff. If you would like to support a student athlete through establishing an award, contact Dave Ritz / dritz@ualberta.ca / 780-679-1182 for assistance.
6. I forgot to indicate that I want my gift to remain anonymous, how can I do that? No problem, we can fix that! Contact Dave Ritz / dritz@ualberta.ca / 780-679-1182 for assistance.
7. Can I give Monthly? Yes! Monthly contributions can be made through your bank or credit card and you can change the amount or cancel your gift at any time. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your gift with receipts mailed once a year in February for your donations from the previous tax year.
