Tanner Mergle is from Wetaskiwin and is in his first year as a Viking playing mainly midfield and striker. He is currently enrolled in his Bachelor of Management and wants to become a financial accountant. He chose Augustana because as it is still a part of the U of A but closer to his hometown. Most importantly Tanner wants his team to be successful and for him to be a contribution, whether on the pitch, practice, or off the pitch for the team’s success. When not on the pitch you can find Tanner watching NBA, listening to music in his dorm room, doing homework, or playing Fortnite. His favourite movie is Coach Carter. His favourite quote is “the purpose of life is having life with a purpose”. Tanner Mergle is the son of Lavona Bailer and David Mergle.
