Sheridan Popenia is from Langham, SK and is in their first year with the Vikings, playing primarily as a guard. She is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Kinesiology and one day hopes to become a strength and conditioning coach and eventually a police officer. Popenia chose to come to Augustana because of the welcoming teammates and the family-like atmosphere.

She was an ACAC silver medalist with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers in 2017-2018, and has earned academic honours from 2015-2018.

Popenia is a former member of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers WBB team (2015-2018), ACAC Scholar Award recipient from 2015-2018, CCAA National Scholar Award recipient from 2015-2017, and CCAA Leadership Award recipient with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers in 2018.

When Popenia is not on the basketball court you can find her at the gym working out, re-watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, hanging out with friends or studying. Her favorite movie is Bridesmaids and her favorite food is barbequed steak and potatoes.

One of her favorite inspirational quotes is: “You have to be fearless to have success” – Serena Williams

Sheridan is supported by her mom Tara, and her dad Jeff. Sheridan doesn’t have any siblings, so she spends most of her time at home hanging out with her three dogs.
