Title: Head Coach

Marissa Lindquist joined Augustana in 2025, bringing a lifelong passion for basketball and over eight years of coaching experience across multiple levels. Originally from Saskatoon, Marissa was inspired early on by her parents—both basketball players and coaches—and began playing at a young age. Her playing career included high school basketball, several years on provincial teams, and two years at the post-secondary level.

Coaching began while still in high school, co-leading a six-week spring basketball program alongside her father. Encouraged by a post-secondary coach to consider coaching after playing, Marissa began working with a local community program in Saskatoon while completing a degree in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan. After graduation, she returned to her former post-secondary program as an assistant coach and have since coached at the youth, high school (club and provincial), and collegiate levels (CCAA and USports). She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in High Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership at the University of British Columbia.

Throughout her coaching career, Marissa has been part of two ACAC Championship teams, a CCAA National Championship team, and an AUS (USports) Championship team. As head coach of provincial teams, she has led groups to silver and bronze medals at national competitions. Notable coaching highlights include guiding the U15 girls’ provincial team from a mid-tier ranking to a national silver medal and seeing a student-athlete they mentored academically go on to graduate.

Marissa's coaching philosophy has been shaped by a range of influential mentors and experiences, including early guidance from female university athletes, long-time colleagues, and the unique opportunity to be coached by both parents. Her commitment to coaching is rooted in a love for the game, a dedication to athlete development, and the strong relationships built along the way.
