CAMROSE, AB - Your Vikings Volleyball teams kicked off the 2025/26 season in style, opening at home with a thrilling weekend of action against the Olds College Broncos and the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens.

On Friday, October 17th, the Vikings came out strong, sweeping the Broncos in three straight sets with a dominant all-around team performance. Leading the charge was middle blocker Brooke McBride, who rose to the occasion with 10 kills and 5 blocks while posting an impressive .692 hitting percentage, earning Player of the Game honors.

McBride carried that momentum into Saturday’s matchup against the always-tough Red Deer Queens, once again showcasing her consistency and power. She recorded 12 kills, 4 digs, and 3 blocks, hitting .647 on the night.

Her weekend performance not only anchored the Vikings’ offense but also placed her among the ACAC’s top performers, currently leading the league in hitting percentage (.667) and sitting fourth in total kills (22).

With a well-deserved weekend off ahead, the Vikings will rest, regroup, and prepare for a southern road swing—taking on the Medicine Hat Rattlers on October 31st and the Briercrest Clippers on November 1st. Expect them to return to the court ready to keep the momentum rolling.
