Vikings Women's Basketball welcomes new recruits
Vikings Women's Basketball is pleased to welcome four new recruits to the program starting in the 2020-21 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference season. "These recruits bring much needed size, shooting, and ability to stretch the floor to our team," says Head Coach, John Dedrick. "Each have played at a high level of competition on either Club or High School teams which should transition well to the College/University level.  They are all top level student-athletes who will work hard to maximize their physical and intellectual talents at Augustana".

Dominique Cox
Strathcona High School
Edmonton, AB
Post
Dominique will bring a physical presence to our team with her size and strength.  An ability to guard other bigs as well as score and rebound will be a huge asset for our team moving forward.  Once Dominique adjusts to the pace of ACAC basketball, she will be a major contributor to the team's success.

Alex Asuncion
Jasper Place High School
Edmonton, AB
Point Guard
Alex is a silky, smooth point who makes good decisions under pressure and has an ability to score when needed.  Her high basketball IQ and natural instincts are to make others better.  Alex has played as part of an outstanding Jasper Place high school program, with elite level coaching under Coach Lauren Green.

Larissa Stephenson
Jasper Place High School
Edmonton, AB
Guard
I've known and watched Larissa play since she was in junior high and I'm very excited to get the opportunity to coach her.  She is long and athletic, can defend multiple spots, and has the ability to stretch the floor with her shooting ability.  Larissa has a high basketball IQ and has also been a part of Jasper Place high school program under Coach Green.

Emma Bergen
La Crete Public School
La Crete, AB
Forward
Emma brings toughness, a very high basketball IQ and an ability to get to the foul line.  She's very versatile and can play inside or out. This versatility will allow her to play and guard multiple positions.  Having had the chance to see her play against some of the top provincial talent and hold her own, I expect her to contribute immediately on the Viking's team.
