Jackson is from Beaverlodge, Alberta, and is a fourth year Bachelor of Science student with a Biology major and a minor in Environmental Science. He hopes to pursue graduate studies in Paleontology and Geology. This is so he can one day work in a museum research laboratory to study the fossils of dinosaurs and other extinct organisms and understand the geology of the rock they are found in. This will also be his fourth year on the Vikings Curling Team. His goal for this year is to improve on his skills and to help the new athletes to the team settle in and be welcomed so that we have a strong team for years to come. Hopefully the curling teams make it to CCAA nationals again but that would be a bonus to a great year.
When he is not on the curling ice, you will usually find him on the running trails, spending time with friends, playing video games and enjoying nature. Lately you might also find him hiking back trails, fording rivers and climbing mountains to explore geological features and searching for fossils of all types. On a quiet day you might also find him playing a friendly bowling game or reading one of William Stuart Long’s “The Australians” book series. His favorite movie is the original Lion King and his favorite food is stir fry. One of his favorite quotes is “Run often. Run long. But never outrun your love of running.” - Julie Isphording
